Chief Roderick Googoo
Here we are, we gather back in We’koqma’q First Nation for the fourth time in the history of the Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Summer Games.
After completing the six-year cycle we find ourselves preparing to host the largest Mi’kmaw sports gathering east of Montreal.
First of all, I’d like to thank everyone that has made these games possible. It is with your continuous support, we are able to strengthen, build and showcase many relationships within our Mi’kmaw Nation.
For today, these games are more than just competition. It is our duties as leaders, to promote, to provide, and to encourage our future generations to healthy physical lifestyles.
In the spirit of the games, we kindly remind you that the games are strictly Alcohol and Drug Free.
On behalf of We’koqma’q First Nation, Staff, Chief and Council, we welcome you to the 2019 Nova Scotia Mi’kmaw Summer Games.
